2.41C: Describe an Experiment to Prepare a Pure, Dry Sample of an Insoluble Salt, Starting from Two Soluble Reactants



PREPARATION OF INSOLUBLE SALTS:

USING TWO SOLUBLE REACTANTS:

Soluble Salt can be formed by a precipitation reaction - a reaction that produces a precipitate.

PREPARATION OF INSOLUBLE SALT

METHOD:

  • Dissolve soluble salt in beaker of Water and mix together using a stirring Rod
  • Filter to remove Precipitate from mixture
  • Wash filtrate with Water to remove traces of other Solutions
  • Leave in an oven to Dry
