CHEMICAL TEST FOR WATER USING ANHYDROUS COPPER (II) SULFATE:

TEST FOR WATER

METHOD:

  • Add liquid to Anhydrous Copper (II) Sulfate
  • Colour change is observed and recorded

RESULT:

  • If liquid is water, white powder will turn Blue as Hydrated Copper (II) Sulfate is formed, which is a blue crystal

EQUATION:



  CuSO4 (s)      +         5H2O  (l)      →         CuSO4.5H2O (s)      

      White                                                                  Blue
